This position is responsible for growing philanthropic revenue and deepening donor relationships across the communities we serve by designing, implementing and evaluating strategies that strengthen annual giving, mid-level giving, major gifts, and community engagement. The position will supervise select team members involved in this effort and will work closely with the Vice President to insure these strategies align with the needs of Cape Fear Valley Health.MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Working closely with the VP, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes annual giving, mid-level giving, community engagement, events, major gifts and planned giving to ensure that fundraising activities align with CFVH’s overall strategic plan and goals for philanthropic support.
- Manage select fundraising professionals in the areas of annual giving, mid-level giving, community engagement and events, and data services by providing guidance, training and support as needed. Using a multi-channel approach, guide the development of fundraising strategies with team members. This includes setting goals and expectations for individual team members, monitoring performance and providing feedback to ensure fundraising goals are met or exceeded. Set the example for a moves management approach to strengthen relationships and increase giving levels.
- Responsible for a portfolio of donors with higher giving capacity and individual performance metrics.
- Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to develop and execute donor communications and fundraising materials.
- Work closely with gift and donor data personnel to ensure best practices are adhered to in order to support the fundraising strategies for maximum success.
- Collaborate with CFV department leaders and team members to align funding priorities and access to philanthropic dollars. Serve as a POC for internal grants requests.
- Assist VP as needed in other areas of operation to include oversight of volunteer and service line specific groups, special projects such as scholarships and awards and other activities as requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive credential preferred.
- Valid NCDL required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Five years’ experience in healthcare, philanthropy, communications, marketing or banking required
- First-hand experience in a healthcare environment preferred
- Experience with fundraising management, strategic planning, supervisory experience, and not-for- profit management preferred
- Knowledge of and proven success with annual giving campaigns and capital campaigns preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent communication skills required
- Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment on multiple, ongoing projects.
- Outstanding interpersonal / relationship building skills
- Possess a team player mentality and be able to work collaboratively with development colleagues and well as interface effectively with other departments
- Ability to lead and effectively manage a diverse group of team members
- Understanding of the fundraising process, especially in a healthcare environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs or related software
- Ability to use and understand Raiser’s Edge database or other relational database software, to include supporting platforms such as prospect research tools and marketing automation
- Ability to set and meet goals
- Maturity, good judgment, creativity in solving problems
