About the role
We are hiring a Senior Manager, Business Operations | People. Working within our People Success organization, you will spearhead initiatives that advance the highest-priority People Operations workstreams. You will work as a trusted thought partner with leadership to design and implement strategies, policies, and programs that ensure every department head, team manager, and individual contributor can do their best work.
Your scope will be varied and highly impactful, and both strategic and operational. You will own initiatives from ideation to implementation: discerning highest priority problems, crafting a project plan to address, and managing that plan to completion with a direct report and counterparts. You will work closely with senior members of our Leadership team on some of our highest-priority goals.
The perfect candidate will have a deep passion for building organizations and will possess a critical eye that uses first principles to design strategies that are best for Ramp, its various departments, and its people. Our ideal hire is excited to serve as an early member of the People Success team and thrives when asked to identify and act on the highest-impact projects in an ambiguous environment, whatever they may be.

Our team is comprised of former founders, strategy and operations leaders in start-ups and Big Tech, People professionals, and multi-faceted generalists with a deep interest in empowering an organization’s people to do their best work.
This role is based in our New York office near Madison Square Park; we are open to interviewing San Francisco-based candidates on a select basis. We default to being in the office every day, but stints of working remotely are perfectly fine.
What you'll do
Improve and action on high-priority People programs, potentially including: manager effectiveness and enablement, large employee experience projects, and systematic projects (performance review and promotion process, engagement surveys)
Serve as strategic director of all Compensation and Total Rewards initiatives, including: total rewards roadmap, compensation philosophy, equity refresh program, pay-for-performance considerations, executive compensation, and more
Build a People Analytics function: identify and track priority metrics through intuitive dashboards and develop plans to improve said metrics (e.g. regrettable and non-regrettable attrition, engagement score surveys, etc)
Lead large-scale People Operations projects, including identifying, selecting, and project managing migration to HRIS software that can power us through our next phase of growth
Work with leaders – from our most senior executives to frontline managers – to bring your work to life, assess impact, and iterate
Act as coach and trusted advisor to senior leaders, mid-level managers, and individual contributors
What you'll need
8+ years of experience in a combination of non-People (consulting, finance, high-caliber tech operations) and People roles (HR, Operations, Compensation)
Strong analytical skills: ability to build complex financial models and distill distinct insights from said models; fluency in interpreting c
