The ideal candidate will have a robust background in database administration, architecture, and PostgreSQL development. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the unit’s PostgreSQL databases. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and implement database architectures that support business requirements and achieve high performance, availability, and security.</li> <li>Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases.</li> <li>Conduct performance tuning of database systems, including queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.</li> <li>Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and failover procedures.</li> <li>Assist in the design and development of data models and database solutions.</li> <li>Collaborate with development teams to optimize database code in application layers.</li> <li>Provide guidance on database best practices to IT staff and other stakeholders.</li> <li>Ensure database infrastructure is up-to-date with the latest technology trends and security patches.</li> <li>Develop and maintain documentation regarding database configurations, architectures, and procedures.</li> <li>Serve as the point of contact for database-related queries and technical support.  </li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field</li> <li>Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, tuning, management, and security
