Job Title: Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Engineering Technical Lead (ETL)
Location: Point Loma, San Diego, California
Overview: Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Technical Support Specialist Engineer Tech Lead to join our Global Security Group. As the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Engineering Technical Lead (ETL), you will provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVCt) training events. This position requires periodic local travel to customer sites within the San Diego area and flexibility to adapt to evolving business, customer, and contractual demands.
What You Will Do

Lead engineering efforts for NCTE training events, working closely with operational event leads to meet technical requirements.

Collaborate with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to design architectures supporting training events, ensuring documentation aligns with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) SV-1 and SV-2 standards using tools like Microsoft Visio.

Oversee the health and status of systems during training event execution and provide technical direction to resolve issues.

Troubleshoot LVCt system-related problems and configure system interfaces according to documented standards.

Conduct comprehensive analyses, including technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, and supportability assessments.

Translate customer requirements into actionable hardware and software specifications through functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
What You Must Have

Proficiency in Linux command-line operations and Windows operating systems.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Proven technical leadership capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels—from engineers to senior leadership.

Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
-
U.S. Secret clearance (must be maintained) with eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance if necessary.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of related experience, OR Master's degree and 3 years of experience, OR PhD or Juris Doctorate with no required experience, OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols, including High-Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).

Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP).

Experience creating technical architecture diagrams using Microsoft Visio.

Understanding of Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) tactical systems, including Link 16 and GCCS.

Previous experience working with Navy systems and/or commands.
Physical Requirements
- Office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
- Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
- Lifting and moving materials may be required.
