Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
This position is responsible for the Northlake plant Warehouse and the North Warehouse. This includes the following activities: order fulfillment, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, yard or warehouses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an at-will employer, SIG (formerly Scholle IPN) reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary.
- Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Plans short-term and long-term workforce requirements based on throughput and related activity levels.
- Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported unusable, slow moving, and excess stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Investigates transactions on items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Track training for subordinates and ensure they are PIV certified.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends and implements changes in allocation of space, and crating procedures.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience in related field is preferred.
- Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.
- Additional education in quality, safety or supply chain knowledge is preferred.
