Position Summary
Serve as the primary contact for all Automation and Controls-related activities, providing expert support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Engage in wiring, panel installations, troubleshooting, and other automation, controls, and electrical tasks related to new equipment installations and modifications of existing systems.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose actionable solutions; participate in the implementation and validation of these enhancements.
- Rapidly diagnose the root causes of issues and communicate effective solutions to the team for swift implementation.
- Collaborate closely with the Controls/Automation and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Follow wiring schematics to support troubleshooting activities and panel wiring.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's degree with 2 years' experience or a high school diploma with 3 years' experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing and/or automotive manufacturing environments.
- Extensive experience with PLCs, HMIs, and other automation tools and systems.
- Experience with Industrial Robotic is a PLUS.
- Experience with machine vision systems is a PLUS.
- Experience in a cleanroom environment is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
- Knowledge of panel building and wiring is a MUST.
- Ability to read, understand and follow wiring schematics is a MUST.
- Effective collaboration with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments across the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to teach and train other controls technicians.
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of planning and achieving objectives while multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding both written and electronic procedures and technical documents in English.
- Strong work ethic, demonstrating flexibility and self-discipline.
Technical Systems Proficiency:
- Proficiency in RSLogix/Studio5000 is a PLUS.
- Familiarity with Ignition is a PLUS.
Eligibility
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
- Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
- Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
- Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
- Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
