Responsibilities
Area Security Officer (ASO) providing a diverse Government organization with administrative and program protection services. The ASO must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical security competence, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and implement the proper and effective security policy and procedures for the protection of classified efforts.
Role Responsibilities:
- Using knowledge of the various security disciplines such as Physical Security, Personnel Security, Information System Security, and Industrial Security to determine, apply, and monitor appropriate security requirements for assigned programs
- Assist Government in Personnel Security to include analyzing and adjudicating security reporting; processing visitor and clearance request; facilitate badge maintenance and vault access control; support industrial and personnel clearance process
- Support the creation, processing, coordination, and approval of security documents and entering such information into applicable databases
- Plan, coordinate, and manage security support for classified activities
- Assist in the development, review, coordination, and execution of a wide range of security documentation to include security classification guides; compartmented briefing guides; security plans for compartments; security manuals; and security processes
- Actively support Security Reviews at performer locations and the Self-Inspection Programs
- Perform OPSEC analysis and provide other OPSEC support
- Provide "day-to-day" multi-discipline analysis for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Providing day-to-day security support that includes continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and provide appropriate recommendations for revising and improving security policies, procedures, and systems
- Brief all levels of personnel on a variety of security-related topics
- Monitor, report, and track all corrective actions resulting from compliance reviews
- Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and management staff
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with POLY
- Bachelor's degree with eight (12) years or Master's degree with six (10) years.
- Minimum of five (5) years or more related experience in supporting Intelligence Community security programs
- Expertise and ability to support working tasks with limited guidance and supervision
Desired:
- Demonstrated experience with Lotus Notes, Windows, Microsoft Office to include Access and Excel.

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
