Role Overview:
As a software developer for New York Life’s Technology Organization, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying software applications by analyzing user needs, creating efficient code, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining existing software to ensure optimal functionality and performance across various platforms; collaborating with other team members throughout the development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:
• Analyze user needs and translate them into detailed software requirements.
• Design software architecture, create technical specifications, and develop detailed design documents.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using relevant programming languages.
• Thoroughly test software applications to identify and resolve bugs and issues.
• Work effectively with other developers, designers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure project success
What You’ll Bring:
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)
• Understanding of Agile development practices
• Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL)
• Familiarity with code management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Relevant experience in software development, depending on the role (junior, mid-level, senior)
• Understanding of Agile development practices
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI to increase productivity and streamline processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skill
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $95,000-$162,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
