Senior Director/VP of Production

We are looking for a resourceful and experienced leader to lead the Production Department for Manticore. You will ensure the team is working efficiently to develop high-quality, on-time releases, coordinating and project managing for design, art, engineering, and QA. As part of this you will work closely with executives to make strategic decisions, develop processes for the team, oversee the implementation of specific features, and mentor other members of the team. You will work with the Manticore leadership team to gather and provide information used to make product-critical decisions. This role reports directly to the CEO. Our headquarters are located in San Mateo, CA but this role can be fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Run multiple cross-disciplinary feature teams
• Implement production schedules for features at all stages: ideation, development, launch, and post-launch support
• Develop and grow a high-performing and multifunctional Production Team
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, QA and art teams to ensure high quality deliverables
• Utilize tools like Jira to keep the team well informed and organized
• Evaluate current team processes, identify weaknesses, and implement new/changed processes to increase efficiency
• Work closely with all members of the team to ensure we maintain a positive, healthy working environment
• Lead by example with clear, transparent communication
• Oversee discussions and guide the team to clear, actionable tasks and outcomes
• Mentor other members on the Production team and aid in their growth
• Be a product expert and provide professional feedback to make the best Product possible
• Be a positive influence, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the team
• Present team accomplishments, upcoming milestone features, and demo the product during Team All Hands and rally the company to success

Requirements

• 12+ years of Production experience, ideally with MMOs, virtual worlds, and social simulations, with increasing levels of responsibility
• Experience working directly with engineers with the ability to effectively communicate and drive technical features
• Experience leading teams with direct reports
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence others, and write, speak and present with impact
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, Jira specifically
• Led the launch of a title as a Director of Production or EP, preferably on console or PC 
• Experience running a live service
• Track record of shipping high quality products

$130,000/year to $200,000/year

A reasonable estimate of the current US base salary range for this position is salary (the range listed above) + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within that range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including but not limited to job-related skill sets, experience and training, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
