Responsibilities
The Data Management and Governance Leader will serve as a senior strategic contributor within the Office of the CDAO, reporting directly to the Director of Data Product Strategy & Governance. This role is responsible forestablishing and executing comprehensive data management and governance frameworks that enable trusted, compliant, and accessible data across all business functions. The position focuses on building enterprise-wide data governance capabilities that support audit, tax, and advisory services, while ensuring regulatory compliance and enabling data-driven innovation throughout the firm. This role will also serve as the data strategist responsible for evaluating third party data sources for data warehouse enrichment. Essential Responsibilities: Enterprise Data Governance Strategy: - Develops and implements comprehensive data governance strategies, policies, and standards aligned with firm-wide objectives and regulatory requirements - Establishes and evangelizes data governance models that prioritize value creation, ensuring each data management initiative delivers measurable business impact and accelerates decision-making capabilities Data Policy and Standards Development: - Creates and maintains enterprise data management policies, standards, and procedures covering data quality, privacy, security, and lifecycle management - Establishes data classification frameworks and taxonomies to support appropriate data handling and protection measures - Develops data retention, archival, and disposal policies in compliance with regulatory and business requirements Governance Framework Implementation: - Creates governance workflows and approval processes for data access, usage, and modification leveraging technology solutions including catalogs, lineage tools, and policy enforcement mechanisms - Ensures data management practices comply with relevant regulations including SOX, GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific requirements Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management: - Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs on data literacy, governance policies, and procedures Technology and Platform Strategy: - Evaluates, selects, and implements data governance technology platforms including data catalogs, lineage tools, and policy management systems - Partners with data architecture and engineering teamstoembed governance controls into data pipelines and platformsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field - Training in governance frameworks (COBIT, COSO) and regulatory compliance - 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles with progressive responsibility - 5+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide data initiatives and cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications in data governance or management (CDMP, DAMA, CISA, CRISC) - Significant experience in professional services, financial services, or highly regulated industries - Advanced knowledge of audit, tax, and advisory business processes and regulatory requirements - Experience with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) - Experience with data monetiApply for this role
