The value you'll bring: As a member of our Professional Services department, the Senior Systems Engineer (Modern Workplace + Automation) helps design and deliver scopes of work related to client IT environments, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Modern Workplace and Automation technologies. This position is highly customer-facing, works across a broad range of customer environments/industries, and has a strong focus on providing exceptional customer experiences and business outcomes. They are responsible for the following essential duties:
- Responsible for planning, delivering, and leading Microsoft365 migrations across full stack of Modern Workplace
- Responsible for designing, implementing, and remedying complex technology solutions in one or more of the following “subject matter expert” areas:
- Cloud Technology: Provides project design + implementation tasks and high-level troubleshooting for public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, Microsoft365, with a strong focus on migrations.
- Exchange/Messaging: Provides design, implementation, migration, and high-level troubleshooting services for Microsoft Exchange and messaging systems, including Microsoft365.
- Windows Servers: Provides project design + implementation, and high-level troubleshooting for infrastructure, including Windows Server (2019, 2016, 2012 R2, 2012, 2008 R2, 2003) and virtualization environments on both Hyper-V and vSphere, in addition to Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Active Directory: Provides project design + implementation and high-level troubleshooting for Active Directory, including Azure Active Directory (Intra AD), Intune, AutoPilot, Group Policy, Access/Identity Management, AADS, Federation Services, Domain Controllers, etc. for medium to enterprise environments.
- Networking: Provides project design + implementation and high-level troubleshooting for networking infrastructure, including: Routing, switching, firewalls, WAPs, VPNs, load balancers, etc. in medium to larger LAN/WAN environments, including cloud environments (Azure, Amazon AWS).
- Provides senior consultative services and project work for Professional Services clients with a particular focus in Modern Workplace and Automation:
- Defines and completes project tasks, including scripting, related to workplace automation, leveraging Intune, SharePoint, Viva, Microsoft Fabric (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Platform), etc.
- Responsible for designing, creating, and managing automated workflows to streamline client and internal business processes.
- Develops custom business applications using Power Apps in alignment with client/internal requirements.
- Creating interactive reports and dashboards with Power BI for data visualization.
- Successfully ties together multiple data sets from various sources, including the development of custom connectors for third-party or in-house APIs.
- Develops and presents proofs of concepts to project stakeholders.
- Utilizes Power Virtual Agents to create AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants to function in accordance with client/scope parameters, including those related to data security and other governance requirements.
- Provides technical support and maintenance for Power Platform environments.
- Acts as a presales consult to help a client identify appropriate solutions, determine project scope, tasks, and budget requirements for Professional Services engagements, interfacing directly with sales team members as well as clients/prospects to understand existing environments, client goals/business objectives, and outline a solution. Scoping work may be limited to Rough Orders of Magnitude or smaller scale projects where a Solution Architect skillset is not required, or the Senior Systems Engineer may work in coordination with a Solutions Architect/Director to ensure appropriate scoping.
- Acts as project lead for assigned projects within the Modern Workplace + Automation focus area, directing others in completing project tasks according to project scopes; working with Project Managers or Sales to resolve potential/actual risks; and otherwise ensuring the successful delivery of services
