Position performs treatment planning and dosimetry computations encountered in daily clinical physics activities as requested by the radiation oncologist. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Chart Review and Dose Calculation.
- Demonstrate competence in the thoroughness in performing final chart reviews.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize errors/potential errors in chart.
- Demonstrates competence in the accuracy of performing dose calculations.
- Brachytherapy Planning.
- Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to brachytherapy planning including pre-planning and post-implant brachytherapy.
- Performs treatment plan in accordance with treatment policies.
- Accurately localizes implant sources and special interest dose points.
- Prints out all necessary documentation.
- CT Sim.
- Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to 2D, 3D and 4D external beam planning.
- Accurately delineates normal and critical structures.
- Displays multiple views for physician with appropriate beam angles.
- Prints out any and all pertinent films necessary at an appropriate TFD for blockmaker.
- Prints out all necessary documentation required for simulation or first day setup on treatment machines.
- 2D External Beam Planning.
- Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to 2D external beam planning.
- Accurately delineates critical structures, if applicable.
- Performs 2D isodose calculations per physician treatment prescription.
- Prints out all necessary documentation required for simulation or first day setup on treatment machines.
- Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to 3D external beam planning.
- Accurately delineates critical structures.
- Performs 3D isodose calculations per physician treatment prescription.
- Prints out all pertinent films necessary to an appropriate TFD for blockmaker.
- Prints out all necessary documentation required for simulation.
- IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy).
- Performs accurate IMRT isodose calculations per physician treatment prescription.
- Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to IMRT treatment planning.
- Accurately delineates normal and critical structures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four or more years of experience in medical dosimetry within a clinical radiation oncology setting.
- Must be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning.
- Must be able to perform mathematical computations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics or related science degree is required.
- Two to three years' experience in medical dosimetry within a clinical radiation oncology setting required.
- Specialized dosimetry training and certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification board required.
Grade
C18-HSalary Range
$49.10 - $76.09 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Questions
