Responsibilities

Performs various tasks and duties to provide technical assistance and support to medical/surgical staff and personnel during surgical procedures. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

 

PREFERRED

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.

Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units including certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C), or Certified Obstetrics Technologist.

One or more years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units.
