Grand Rapids Kroc Center - Fitness Attendant

Fitness Attendants will supervise participants and programs in the fitness center which includes the cardiovascular, weight machine, free weight, track, personal training and fitness desk area

  

Responsibilities:

Provide general supervision of the fitness center

• Provide information and answer questions about available drop-in classes, programs, events and equipment.
• Provide fitness floor orientations by request and tours to prospective new members.
• Check in 12-15 year old patrons who have passed the Teen Fit Permit class.
• Perform class and program check-in procedures.
• Maintain accurate equipment check in and out procedures.
• Complete hourly headcounts and shift checklists as assigned.
• Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the fitness center.

 

Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the fitness equipment

• Clean and inspect all fitness equipment as specified.
• Report all equipment breakdowns according to stated procedure.
• Repair equipment as instructed and trained.
• Return all equipment to their proper location
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pursuing or having a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education or related field preferred.
• Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
• Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
