Security Specialist

Chubb’s Global Safety, Security and Business Continuity (GSSBCM) has critical areas that are driven by a Duty of Care to protect our people, property, reputation, and brand. GSSBCM acts as a shared service to support Chubb Business Units and Corporate functions – as an integrator that can assist with reducing risk, and enhancing resilience, through deliberate planning, progressively challenging exercises, and transparent policies and processes. 

The Security Officer will be responsible for supporting the safety of all Chubb personnel, property and assets in greater New York City area. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor access points to the lobby, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner.
• Support regular and ad-hoc patrols of the lobby area and the outside perimeter to ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Familiarity with the facility including floor plans and number of employees/guests present daily. 
• Offer directions and assistance to visitors including answering questions and escorting them to their destination. 
• Write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs of security activities. 
• Immediate notification to Site Supervisor and/or Director of Security upon any problematic incidents.
• Provide EP support as requested by Director of Security

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; appropriate security experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree acceptable
• 5-7 years prior work experience in security or customer service.
• Exceptional Customer facing, oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computers, and databases used to administer passes to guests.  
• Proficiency in the use of surveillance equipment and security systems.
• Knowledge of Security Laws and regulations.
• CPR and Defibrillator Trained.
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Flexibility to work various shift including nights, weekends and Holidays. 

The pay range for the role is $60,000 to $99,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
