Proposed Schedule:

  • Three days per week Monday-Thursday (exact days to be agreed upon beforehand), 9:00 am–2:00 pm

About Our Family:

We are a busy family of four, with two daughters (ages 7 and 9) and two playful golden retrievers. One parent works in New York Monday through Thursday and returns home on Fridays, while the other works part-time from home and travels quarterly for work. With both parents managing demanding schedules, we highly value a well-organized, functional home that allows us to focus on quality family time. We are looking for someone to help manage the household, provide occasional backup supervision of the kids when needed, prepare simple meals, and maintain routine upkeep. We also appreciate extra support during busier times, such as when the kids are off school or when we travel to New York.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal person for this role is someone who is reliable, communicative, and maintains a professional, calm approach in a busy household. While we appreciate warmth and friendliness, we value efficiency and a low-maintenance approach. You should be comfortable working independently and handling the ebb and flow of a family’s daily needs, from running errands to meal prep and organization. Flexibility is key, as there may be times when additional help is needed during school holidays or family travel. If you're someone who is proactive, enjoys helping others stay organized and feel supported, while also being hands-on with a busy household, we’d love to hear from you.

Ideal Traits & Skills:

  • Proactive & Independent: Takes initiative and anticipates needs without constant direction.
  • Organized: Maintains smooth systems, manages inventories, and keeps order in a busy environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures tasks are done right the first time, from meal prep to scheduling.
  • Reliable & Consistent: Dependable and punctual, especially with kids’ needs and busy schedules.
  • Professional & Communicative: Clear, efficient communicator with both adults and children, while maintaining a warm demeanor.
  • Flexible & Adaptable: Adjusts to changing needs, including travel and school breaks.

Key Responsibilities:

This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done – not checking all the boxes.

Weekly Priorities:

  • Maintain organization systems for closets, pantry, and kids' spaces.
  • Track and restock household supplies, groceries, and essentials.
  • Create, maintain, and manage running household supply lists.
  • Run errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, returns, etc.).
  • Daily resets: Tidy high-traffic areas, do dishes, wipe surfaces, and vacuum
  • Prepping home for cleaners before Thursday
  • Wash, prep, and chop fruits/vegetables for meals and snacks.
  • Prepare one simple, healthy crockpot or sheet pan meal per week.
  • Maintain kitchen tidiness and clean up after meal prep.
  • Provide occasional backup adult presence when needed for kids.

Those core daily and weekly responsibilities come first, but once handled, we welcome support in other areas based on time, energy, and household needs that week, including:

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Openness to pick-ups/drop-offs
  • Light supervision / back-up childcare

Household Management & Organization

  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event/holiday/guest prep
  • Packing/unpacking for travel
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke det
