Delta Dental is dedicated to driving operational excellence and providing exceptional support to our clients and team members. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Account Services, Client and Team Support team.   This role focuses on consulting on complex and escalated issues, leading cross-functional collaborations, and improving business processes to enhance efficiency and meet customer needs.

  • Act as an SME, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and implement continuous process improvement changes.
  • Lead projects through collaboration with Technology and Key Stakeholders to resolve global issues.
  • Monitor project completion status, identifying at-risk tasks, and developing tactical solutions and mitigation plans.
  • Manage high-level client-facing projects requiring timelines and multi-departmental collaboration.
  • Monitor and manage JIRA resolution and escalation paths for global JIRA issues.
  • Develop and maintain desk-level procedures and Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed (RACI) document updates.
  • Evaluate workflow for automation and development opportunities to support a streamlined approach.
  • Support training efforts related to workflow updates and process changes.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve knowledge of processes and issue resolution protocols.
  • Conduct presentations during open enrollment events. 
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 3 or more years of dental or healthcare experience.
  • 5 or more years of related experience in Sales and Account Management with a focus on administrative/client support.
  • Project management experience is a big plus!
  • Experience in direct and indirect client support.
  • An insurance license may be required in some states.
  • Familiarity with Delta Dental and competitor products and services available. Familiarity with service guarantees, Summery Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and contractual language preferred.
  • Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes and dental nomenclature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and provide exceptional follow-through.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible work style, and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work, establish, understand, and follow work rules and procedures, and take action to improve existing processes.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $52,000 - $104,300
