About the role

Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner's mission-critical sales priorities and works with sales leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team, you'll be at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner's sales force, which delivers approximately $4.9B in annual revenue and working to drive sustained double-digit growth. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support a global sales force comprised of more than 5,000 associates who sell to every major function, industry and market sector around the world.

About this role:

This role is part of the Global Marketing team in GSSO. The Global Marketing team is focused on driving topline revenue and increasing seller productivity.

The User Experience Researcher role is part of the Digital Experience team (DX) within Global Marketing.  As the first dedicated UX researcher on the team, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across Sales Operations, Marketing, Analytics, Product, and Web Development to architect our approach to understanding prospects and optimizing their journey. Your research will be a cornerstone of our collaborative efforts to drive qualified lead generation and support ambitious growth targets. This role focuses exclusively on researching prospective clients and website users, not current Gartner clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Establish, lead, and scale UX research best practices for GSSO’s Digital Experience team, developing frameworks and processes to support future growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including Sales Operations, Marketing, Analytics, Product, and Web Development—to identify research needs, align on priorities, and embed research insights into decision-making.
  • Audit existing research, identify critical knowledge gaps, and set a vision for prospect-focused research that supports lead generation on Gartner.com.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive research roadmap using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods tailored to a B2B sales environment.
  • Build foundational prospect personas, journey maps, and conversion funnels, ensuring these are collaboratively developed and leveraged across teams.
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations, facilitating workshops and discussions that foster shared understanding and drive consensus on digital strategies.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for a data-driven, prospect-centric approach to digital experience optimization across GSSO.
  • Communicate research impact and progress to stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating how insights drive sales pipeline growth and business outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide future researchers as the team expands, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., HCI, Psychology, Market Research) or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of user research experience, with a proven track record of independently establishing or scaling UX research in a digital, B2B, or sales-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success in translating research insights into business impact, particularly around lead generation, conversion optimization, or sales enablement.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience building relationships and influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Deep proficiency in web analytics, user testing platforms, and survey tools.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.

What you will get:

  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401K matching, and more!
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity
  • Professional development and unlimited growth opportunities
