Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour
Description
The Forklift Operator – Line Puller is responsible for pulling pallets off the production line in the packaging department as orders process per schedule, transporting pallets to the automatic shrink-wrapping station and to the appropriate warehouse in a safe and timely manner.Key Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.- Safely and efficiently operates forklift; performs required daily inspections.
- Check availability of materials as listed on the production schedule and notify the Supervisor of any shortages.
- Verify production ticket to the pallet and pull finished goods from the packaging line promptly. Transports pallets to shrink wrap area.
- Transports needed packaging materials to the production area.
- Supplies machine operators with necessary supplies in an efficient and timely manner.
- Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures.
- Accurately completes required paperwork per company standards.
- Maintains regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:- High school diploma, or equivalent required
- Recent forklift (sit-down) experience required
- Forklift Certification
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel
