The opportunity

The Senior HR Generalist will serve as a trusted HR partner to U.S. employees and managers while owning several of the programs that shape the day-to-day employee experience. This role combines employee relations, benefits administration, leave and accommodation management, compliance, manager support, and HR process improvement.

You will independently evaluate complex HR matters, research federal and state requirements, and provide practical guidance that balances employee needs, consistency, compliance, and business priorities. The role offers broad visibility across People Operations and the ability to strengthen the processes, resources, and programs used to support employees and managers.

Reporting to the Director of HR, you will work closely with payroll, finance, legal counsel, benefits vendors, managers, and the broader People Operations team. You will remain hands-on in the work while improving documentation, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, and providing guidance to developing HR professionals.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a primary HR partner to U.S. employees and managers, providing guidance on performance, attendance, conduct, policy interpretation, and employee concerns.
  • Manage employee relations matters of varying complexity, including investigations, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and termination support.
  • Administer U.S. health and welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, and related benefits.
  • Research and resolve complex benefits issues involving eligibility, enrollment, deductions, coverage, qualifying life events, and required corrections.
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, COBRA administrators, and other vendors to support accurate and timely service.
  • Partner with payroll and finance to reconcile benefits deductions, invoices, contribution files, and discrepancies across systems.
  • Support benefits renewals and lead key aspects of open enrollment, including plan implementation, employee communications, system review, and post-enrollment reconciliation.
  • Manage 401(k) administration, including eligibility, contributions, employee questions, vendor coordination, audit support, and corrections.
  • Own employee leave and workplace accommodation processes involving FMLA, ADA, parental leave, disability, workers’ compensation, and applicable state programs.
  • Guide employees and managers through documentation, benefits, accommodation, and return-to-work requirements throughout the leave process.
  • Maintain the U.S. HR and benefits compliance calendar and coordinate required filings, notices, audits, disclosures, and employee communications.
  • Monitor developments in federal, state, and local employment requirements and coordinate necessary updates to policies, systems, communications, and operating practices.
  • Draft and maintain HR policies, procedures, manager resources, employee communications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review HR data, records, and recurring processes to identify compliance risks, resolve discrepancies, and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and quality review to HR coordinators and developing HR professionals.
  • Partner with the Director of HR on workforce planning, organizational initiatives, compliance matters, and evolving People Operations priorities.
