About the role
This position is remote / work from home but candidates must be local to Annapolis, MD for meetings. Salary: $130,000 - 150,000/year with bonus. We are seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our Cloud Engineering, Power BI Analytics, and Help Desk teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, data analytics, and IT support management. As the IT Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, driving data-driven decision-making through Power BI analytics, and ensuring smooth operations of our help desk services.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Engineering:
- Lead the strategy and execution of cloud initiatives, including migration to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and secure cloud architectures.
- Manage cloud resources, monitor performance, and optimize costs.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Power BI Analytics:
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Drive data governance and ensure data integrity across the organization.
- Train and support teams in leveraging Power BI for data visualization and analysis.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization.
- Help Desk Management:
- Oversee the help desk team, ensuring timely resolution of IT issues and excellent customer service.
- Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for help desk operations.
- Continuously improve help desk processes, tools, and documentation to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and support IT infrastructure and applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience 3 in a leadership role overseeing cloud engineering, Power BI analytics, and help desk teams.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience with data analytics tools, especially Power BI, and a solid understanding of data modeling and visualization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and project management abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are a plus.
