The role:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work in the community setting to provide stoma care, advice, and support patients to improve their quality of life. Delivering our forever caring promise to patients and their families/carers

You would provide nursing intervention advice and education to ensure that the specific needs of individual patients are addressed, promoting patient autonomy where possible so that the individual is able to make informed choices about their own care. Improving quality of life and patient outcomes.

Covering: Southeast (London Area, Essex into Kent and across to Berkshire).  

Responsibilities:

  • You would provide guidance, support, advice and counseling to patients and their family/carers along the continuum of care but know when to refer on to other professionals for more specialist guidance, support, advice, and counseling.

  • You would recognise when an individual is unable to manage their stoma care independently, either physically or psychologically and actively formulate an alternative plan of care.

  • You would ensure that all confidential Patient Records and any data collection is maintained in line with Company and NHS policies using an electronic patient record system (EPRS)

  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into appropriate patient record keeping systems that meet the requirements of data protection and ensure that company liability is within current regulations.

  • Working with our commercial team, we would encourage you to establish effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals to develop the service and gain appropriate referrals.

  • You would be expected to participate in the provision of advice and guidance to patients through the Triage system.

  • You would participate in educational sessions for professionals, end users and interest groups and where appropriate, build and develop relations with Key Opinion Leaders within the Ostomy marketplace.

  • Engage with and develop relationships with local and national Ostomy patient Associations.

  • Develop and drive patient education forums in line with Ostomy strategic plan incorporating Me+

  • You will need flexibility within your territory and work with your colleagues to service all patients and HCPs who require our service.

  • We would encourage you to identify areas of nursing practice within the specialty that would benefit from being researched and share findings with others through publication, conference, and presentations.

  • You would be a specialist resource for the sales team, helping them to understand clinical needs and share ideas/suggestions to support the Business Unit objectives.

  • The role requires cross-functional collaboration, so we ask you to demonstrate an ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
