Job Description

We are looking for a policy enthusiast to join the Policy team and support our bitcoin wallet and mining teams. You have demonstrated experience on policy and regulatory issues, with an ability to speak to both technical and policy audiences. You will have experience managing complex policy matters, working to achieve outcomes, and advocating on behalf of issues at the intersection of financial services and technology. You have internal Corporate experience, managing a global policy agenda while working with our teams. You will report to the Head of Bitcoin Policy and will collaborate with senior hardware wallet and mining product leads and colleagues on the Policy, Legal, and Compliance teams.

You Will:

  • Engage with product leadership, policy colleagues, regulatory and product counsel, communications, and compliance teams to develop strategic global policy plans for our wallet and mining products.
  • Advocate for important policy and political matters, and craft positions for us that will further establish us as a thought leader and innovator.
  • Develop thoughtful recommendations for both proactive and reactive engagement with global policymakers and regulators.
  • Guide processes to develop impactful responses to incoming policy challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in policy work, with a preference for experience in the financial services and technology sectors.
  • Experience with business partnering, particularly at a large corporation.
  • Experience with the global technical and policy issues around technology and fintech, experience in cryptocurrency policy, and policy/advocacy/industry relationships in this space.
  • Experience navigating complex policy issues both internally and externally.
  • Experience developing policy proposals, regulatory comments and strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively across our teams.
  • Advocacy skills; an ability to explain complicated issues and policy positions to any audience.
  • An ability to think about the strategy from all different sides and solve complex problems or roadblocks.

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $138,200 - USD $169,000
Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $157,100
Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
Zone D: USD $110,600 - USD $135,200

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
