Who We Are
Join HII and Mission Technologies where our team works in the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life of RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems to ensure the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service.
We are seeking a Tradesperson to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH Elevator Support Unit (ESU) by working on electrical systems to assist with refit and fleet modernization of Hangar Bay Divisional Doors and Deck Edge Elevator Doors. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and America’s national defense!
What You Will Do
- Under direction, performs routine work technical trades duties to include support of technical repairs and installations.
- Work from blueprints and tech manuals.
- Work assigned is typical of standard work assignments common to specialty trades.
- Applies job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks that vary based on job, contract, customer requirements, specifications, etc.
- Performs semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of systems and equipment.
What You Must Have
- High School education and 1 year of related experience, or Trade School or equivalent. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Candidate must be able to read and use precision tools.
- Candidate must be able to follow safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
- Candidate must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
- Candidate must be able to provide hand tools per trade designation.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Bonus Points For Having!
- Candidates who have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school, apprenticeship program or a skilled trades certificate program are preferred.
- Candidates with a current or active DoD clearance preferred.
- OSHA 10 Maritime Certification
- NAVSEA Cableway Improvement certification
- Muli-Pin Connector experience
- Knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NS
