About the role
The Lead Process Engineer is a highly influential and visible member of the Materials R&D group with responsibility for providing hands-on process engineering expertise and leadership to new product development programs and product improvement initiatives. Primary process areas of responsibility include compounding, web coating and handling, and slitting operations.
Qualifications- Perform process development and scale up activities in support of new product developments
- Conduct process improvement initiatives and custom product developments while interfacing with floor production personnel and operations management in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Investigate product quality issues; institutionalize corrective actions
- Lead and supervise research projects that deliver business results
- Work within multiple cross functional teams to enable new product development project success
- Define and Execute various project activities through a defined Stage Gate process
- Explore new technologies in material design or process for future application to Brady operations and/or target markets
- Design & execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of these technologies
- Develop an understanding of process capability, design selection criteria, and/or structure-property relationships for developed products
- Actively research & identify relevant intellectual property and patentable inventions Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities
