Staff Software Engineer

Skills: Django, Python, Distributed Systems, Amazon Web Services (AWS)

This is a full-time role to be a Staff Software Engineer, located onsite in New York, NY.

About the role

You will work directly with the founding team to design and build the future of the financial system from the ground floor. We pride ourselves on our “hands off culture” by having very few meetings and giving engineers and creators a broad scope of responsibility and autonomy. You’ll be working in-person 5 days/week in our lower-manhattan NYC office, building side-by-side with the rest of the team. Our tech stack is django/python, react/next/typescript, hosted on AWS.

Responsibilities

First week: 

• Day 1: push your first PR to production
• Understand the core problems Hadrius solves, our ICP, our value proposition, the Hadrius platform, pricing structure, and roadmap
• Learn the Hadrius way: how we work and build for high growth
• Get up to speed on the codebase
• Contribute to product discussions in weekly all hands

First month: 

• Implement a big feature that directly leads to new revenue for the business
• You’re already standing out on the team and “leading from the front”.
• Helping others through code-review and technical design reviews

First 3 months & beyond: 

• Continuing to develop the above skillsets and becoming a force multiplier for the team
• Training and hiring new team members to take over your code as you scale your impact
• Solving infra and security challenges as our technical needs grow
• Developing our internal infrastructure and tooling from CI/CD and package management, to VPN and access controls.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or similar experience in staff+ roles
• Clear communicator with a penchant for solving problems
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Nice to haves

• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience working in a mature React codebase in production
• Experience working in a mature Django/Python codebase in production

4. On-site: Meet the rest of the team & culture fit 1:1s with cofounders
