About the role

About Us

Galileo is a team-based medical practice working to improve the quality and affordability of health care for all. Operating across 50 states, Galileo offers high-touch, data-driven, multi-specialty, longitudinal care to diverse and complex patients—on the phone, in the home, and everywhere in between. Regional and national health plans, employers, and Fortune 500 organizations trust Galileo as the leading solution to improve population health. Founded by Dr. Tom X. Lee, the healthcare pioneer behind One Medical and Epocrates, Galileo is a team of leading innovators from healthcare, technology, and human-centered design. Our mission is to apply that talent and scientific thinking to transform society by solving our largest, toughest healthcare problems, while at the same time bringing patient and provider closer.

Join Galileo as a Senior Data Analyst, where you'll be the cornerstone of data-driven decision-making across our entire product ecosystem. You'll build the analytical infrastructure that powers insights for Marketing, Operations, Client Services, and Customer Service teams, directly impacting how we understand and improve our users' healthcare journey. This is a role for someone who gets excited about turning messy data into pristine insights and loves being the person stakeholders rely on for game-changing analysis.

A Day in the Life

You'll spend significant time diving deep into SQL queries and dbt models, optimizing performance while ensuring data accuracy across our complex healthcare data ecosystem. Equally important is the collaborative aspect of the role: you'll partner closely with Product Engineering to understand new features, work with Marketing to track campaign effectiveness, and assist Operations in identifying workflow improvements. You'll balance heads-down technical work building data marts and pipelines with strategic conversations where you challenge stakeholders to think differently about their metrics. Your work will directly influence product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and operational decisions, always connecting data insights to real improvements in patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dbt data marts that transform raw user data into actionable utilization profiles and behavioral segments
  • Create and optimize Looker dashboards that become the daily source of truth for 20+ stakeholders across 4+ departments
  • Partner with Product Engineering teams to implement comprehensive event tracking and behavioral analytics
  • Deliver subscription and retention analyses that directly inform product strategy and revenue forecasting
  • Reduce dashboard load times and query performance by 20%+ through systematic optimization
  • Conduct deep-dive user journey and funnel analyses that identify friction points and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain impeccable data quality standards while building self-service analytics capabilities for non-technical users

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years of SQL experience with complex datasets, including multi-table joins and query optimization
  • 5+ years collaborating with stakeholders across Marketing, Operations, Product, and Customer Service functions
  • 5+ years of digital product analytics experience with subscription/SaaS business models
  • Proven expertise with dbt for building and maintaining data transformation pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms
  • Track record of partnering with engineering teams and understanding technical documentation (PRDs, TDDs)
  • Experience with ETL tools like Fivetran and modern data stack technologies
