Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge of, comply and enforce data standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines as defined in Internal Revenue Manuals (IRMs), Enterprise Data Standards and Guidelines (EDSG), and Enterprise Data Strategy, etc.
• Perform data analysis, data design, data architecture, data and metadata management and technical solutions for projects and systems.
• Develop and maintain data models and data mapping documents for projects and systems.
• Develop and maintain XML and JSON schema and related mapping documents for projects and systems.
• Demonstrate knowledge of IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, ERWin, XMLSpy, IgniteXML, SQL and NoSQL databases, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, Data Mining and Data Storage, W3C Data Standards, REST/SOAP, JSON, WSDL.
• Research data components necessary for XML schema development and data modeling.
• Develop data requirements, author, review, and update data sections of the BSR, VSA, Design Specification Report (DSR)/Simplified Design Specification Report (sDSR) and applicable Interface Control Document (ICD) documents for projects and systems.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Modernized eFile systems, forms, and publications.
• Perform Data Engineering and prototyping Analysis of Alternatives (AoA).
• Analyze and provide Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) assessment for Work Requests.
• Support ad hoc requests (such as input into Executive Briefings, technical briefings, and impact analysis).

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering high performance Java based systems and applications.
• Experience must include implementing cloud-based systems and integrating on premises systems with Cloud Based Systems.
• Experience must include Modernization of Legacy Applications.
• Experience leading development of high level solutions, presenting solutions and leading detail design sessions.
• AWS or Azure certification (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect Professional) in related field.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Active MBI Clearance is highly preferred.
