Job Title: Forklift Operator

Department: Operations

Reports To: General Manager

Position Type: Full Time

Shift/Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm with O/T when required

Salary: $19.00 + $1.50 shift differential when applicable


Purpose of Position

Use of power equipment to load and unload product. Safely move, locate, relocate, stack and count product. Accurately process incoming and outgoing orders within designated systems.  Ensure the health and safety of our customer product by maintaining a clean facility.

Maintains an appropriate appearance and dresses in accordance with the established dress code guidelines to your respective position.


Safety:

Follows all rules, guideline, and practices. Informs supervisor / manager immediately if unsafe conduct or conditions arise.


Position Competency

  1. Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  2. Ability to use handheld RF Scan Device.
  3. Must be able to lift 50lbs., sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
  4. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat and reach above shoulder level.
  5. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Position Expectations

Productivity:

  • Meet established productivity standards specific to the account.
  • Understand the stocking strategy (location of product) of the operations building you are assigned.
  • Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions.
  • Vacuum and clean bug lights as needed using hot soapy water. Replace bulbs.
  • Empty trash daily in all areas of your building.
  • Inspect refrigerators for spillage, clean with hot soapy water.
  • Remove spider webs using designated equipment around forklift areas, racking and guide rail as well as perimeter and edges.
  • Vacuum carpet areas.
  • Sweep and pick up all wood chips, strapping, shrink wrap, ect off of the warehouse floor.
  • Vacuum cracks in the dock plates.
