This position is responsible for performing repairs to intermodal containers and chassis to industry standards.
This position will be responsible to:
- Safety operate and drive a service truck while controlling the movement
- Ability to perform chassis repairs as Lights, Tires, Landing Legs, ABS Brakes and Framework,
- Repair Intermodal Containers, replace flooring, welding repairs, locking systems, structural repairs.
- Repair equipment in accordance with steamship line IILCL criteria and railroad manufacture & FMCSA guidelines.
- Document repairs according to an established reporting system, verbally and in writing
- Knowledge and experience with welding and acetylene torches.
- Knowledge of materials and proper use.
- Ability to operate power and hand tools
- Work safe and follow all required safety procedures and guidelines.
- Workspace must be always kept clean.
- Follow instructions as directed by staff supervisor.
- Ability to work in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to climb in out of containers mounted on chassis and safely use step ladders
- Workspace must be kept clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Have own tools
- Open availability
- Wiliness to complete a criminal background, drug screen and physical.
- Strong Work Ethic
