Our partner is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings to join their team in Hartford, CT. This role involves overseeing the structural design process across multidisciplinary projects, coordinating with architects and engineers, and providing mentorship to junior team members. Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process from initial concept through to project completion, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct structural analysis and prepare calculations for both new construction and existing buildings
- Develop efficient, cost-effective engineering solutions that enhance structural performance
- Mentor junior engineers and review their technical work, providing guidance and support
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other engineering teams to incorporate structural elements into comprehensive project designs
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address technical questions and resolve project-related issues
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required; familiarity with RISA 3-D and RAM Steel is a plus
- Experience with concrete, steel, and timber structural design is preferred
- Proficiency with structural analysis software is essential
- Familiarity with Connecticut building codes is advantageous
