Job Overview

The Senior Manager Tech Services role requires comprehensive Tech Services, management, and business expertise. The Senior Manager Tech Services leads through subordinate managers of managers and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy. They direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that have implications beyond their function. The Senior Manager of Tech Services applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance and influence customer relationships.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the development of a construction HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job
  • Observe construction practices for compliance with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements    
  • Gather required documents and information to support construction activities  
  • Review the project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of the Contract  
  • Assists Site Manager and Construction Manager’s overview and evaluation of construction cost, schedule, and forecasting performances
  • Update procedures, systems, work processes, and standards to cover technical activities used in the home office and the Project Sites
  • Monitor technical activities to ensure a standard of implementation and reporting by Company Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the Constructability review process, construction execution planning, system completion, and turnover process  
  • Ensure subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities
  • Manage the activities of the Technical Staff on projects
  • Field surveying (horizontal and vertical controls)
  • Assist Construction and Subcontracts with field subcontract coordination
  • Assist in Contract issues and execution
  • Coordinate additional design or field design with the resident, third party, or home office engineering
  • Manage requests for information (RFIs) and review/recommend solutions
  • Assist in the preparation of final red-line drawings
  • Staff, supervise personnel, and manage the budget for the project department
  • Report to the Project Construction Manager

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Engineering Degree or related field
  • Degree preferred, but not required
  • 15 to 20 years of construction experience in a technical capacity with 7+ years of supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience in multi-discipline designs, engineering interfaces, and all phases of on-site construction
  • Implementation and Management of MDR procedures and standards
  • High focus on ensuring that all aspects of construction are installed correctly and documented accurately
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to convey complex concepts in a clear manner  
  • Advanced MS Office skills, specifically with Excel and Access
  • Implementation and Management of MDR procedures and standards
  • Experience in leadership positions and ability to influence others at a professional level  
  • Advanced understanding of construction sequencing and construction techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
  • Energetic with a positive and enthusiastic disposition, possessing a can-do attitude  
  • Respected for uncompromising integrity, work ethic, and professionalism
  • Understanding organizational structures for all roles that coincide with WorkFace Planning
