Background:

The Hadri Lab at the Department of Pharmacological Science, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the team in the field of epigenomic modifications in pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. Ongoing projects have lots of preliminary data or are explorative but with high rewards. Our lab focuses on novel therapies for cardiopulmonary diseases. The outstanding and highly motivated postdoc will have an opportunity to design research projects that leverage cutting-edge approaches, knock out mice, heart and lung imaging, next-generation sequencing techniques, gene expression, and epigenetics regulation analysis, including whole genome and at single cell level.  We currently have a funded project centered around studying the PRC2 and chromatin remodeling complexes and associated pathways. 

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated postdoc with a strong interest in epigenetic and gene expression, technical skills in biochemistry, and molecular and cellular biology to contribute to our collaborative projects as part of an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, be able to work independently, and have experience leading projects to successful completion.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying various epigenetic tools and transcriptomic analysis and designing compounds for biomedically important proteins, with a focus on chromatin regulators and modulators.

Position Requirements:

• PhD in in the biomedical sciences or related field.

• The candidate must be skillful in common cellular/biology techniques, and mouse work including survival surgeries, histology/immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging.

• Prepared to collaborate on multidisciplinary research projects.

• Highly motivated and creative candidates with strong research backgrounds and a track record of publications.

• The ability to supervise research trainees and/or technicians.

• The ability to communicate effectively with faculty, postdocs, and students of all levels.

Compensation Statement

 

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $73,588.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
