Job Description
As a Security Officer - Distribution Center Patrol - Full Time in Romulus, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more .
As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading logistics and distribution location, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment for people, property, and assets. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the facility. By remaining highly visible and approachable, you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence for employees and visitors. You will also be expected to deliver exceptional customer service, respond promptly to inquiries, and communicate clearly with both team members and site personnel. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
- Provide customer service by assisting individuals with inquiries and directing them as needed while maintaining security-related protocols.
- Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols and site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to observe for irregularities and report any security-related concerns.
- Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to site and Allied Universal requirements.
- Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations or other site-specific emergency protocols.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
