Job Summary

To work closely with the Family Ministries Director in the oversight of JRKids Ministries. Assist with teaching, production, media, and project management. Strategic part of curriculum and event planning concerning both areas. Assist the Family Ministries Director in other events and areas as assigned.


Essential Functions & Job Duties

Large Group Prep

  • Contributes with planning and coordinating elements for executing large group ministry.
  • Be familiar with building and maintaining pro-presenter schedules for Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • Prepare props, costumes, illustrations, supplies needed to execute large group ministry.
  • Serve as a member of the curriculum team developing ongoing curriculum for James River Kids.
  • As a part of the team – assist with maintaining front of house, backstage areas, prop room is kept clean and organized.


Online and Video Preparation

  • Assist team by preparing needed props, costumes, supplies for video elements
  • Coordinate schedules and individuals needed for video shoots as required. 
  • Be familiar with the necessary upkeep and use of video and lighting equipment
  • Maintain a neat and organized production room for Elementary.


Service Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of JRKids Leadership – be able to provide clear direction to Dream team as needed in an assigned venue.
  • While with the Director, pastoral assistant will keep detailed notes and send follow-up to other individuals on team as necessary.
  • Be able to effectively communicate to kids in venues. This role may at times be required lead at any of the 4 physical JRC Campuses.


Curriculum

  • Assist in managing curriculum flow and responsibilities
  • Ensure timeline and deadlines are being met for all areas needed for curriculum


Projects and Events

  • Throughout the course of the year, the Pastoral Assistant will assist the Director in church events that fall outside normal Sunday/Wednesday programming. These events would include but are not limited to:
  • CAMPS
  • MENS CONFERENCE
  • EASTER & CHRISTMAS
  • DESIGNED FOR LIFE WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
  • PROJECT PARTNERSHIP
  • SEASON OF GIVING SCHOOL PROJECTS
  • Be able to acquire necessary supplies and resources for projects/events.
  • Recruit teams as needed to help carry out necessary tasks and building projects involved with events.


Ministry Related Meetings and Workdays:

  • Responsible to attend all scheduled staff meetings
  • Scheduled Family Night meetings
  • Scheduled Event Workdays
  • Event staff planning meetings/vision days
  • Take detailed notes in all meetings and follow up with the Director on tasks assigned to team and follow-up needed by leadership
  • Build a weekly report gathering information from all campuses
