Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Air Quality Scientist to be based in Raleigh, NC.

This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
 
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing annual air emissions inventories.
  • Preparing air emission permit applications and air operating permit applications.
  • Developing air quality compliance strategy.
  • Interfacing with clients and regulators.
  • Completing projects on time and accurately.
  • Promoting and demonstrating a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Performing quality checks on self and other team members' technical work products.
  • Inspecting industrial facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Applying knowledge of applicable environmental concerns.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or other related engineering field.
  • Valid Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project and client sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of EPA regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Familiarity with air dispersion modeling.
  • Detail oriented and able to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Independent thinker with a strategic mindset.
  • Proactive and demonstrate initiative.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
