The Opportunity

Denali Therapeutics is dedicated to developing breakthrough therapies for patients with neurodegenerative diseases through rigorously applying a science driven approach to translational medicine and clinical development. Central to Denali’s success are collaborations with partners across academia, industry, and non-profit organizations.

Denali Therapeutics is seeking to recruit an experienced  Senior Manager, Contracts to support the company’s growth plans. Reporting to an Executive Director in the Legal group, the Senior Manager will work closely with numerous internal and external stakeholders to execute the corporate strategy as it relates to Denali’s relationships with third party collaborators, consultants, and service providers. The Senior Manager’s primary responsibility will be to negotiate a variety of contracts, manage a team of contracts professionals, and continue to enhance the contracts group’s infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage a variety of contracts, including confidentiality, consulting, service, manufacturing, and license agreements.
  • Build the contracting function at Denali by developing templates, infrastructure, and best practices.
  • Manage alliances and collaborations with partners across academia, industry, and non-profit organizations.
  • Lead a team of contracts professionals.

 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years’ experience in the biotech/pharma sector drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience in late-stage clinical trials and manufacturing agreements required.
  • Project or alliance management experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of drug discovery and development process.
  • Solid understanding of intellectual property and licensing/partnering agreements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; strong drive for results.
  • Evidence of strong strategic thinking; analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative, but not afraid to have difficult conversations.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $183,667.  Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
