What’s the role?

We are seeking a Senior Expert in semiconductor fabrication technology and processes to join our team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our technology group's understanding of fab managers' perspectives and identifying their primary pain points. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience and network to interface with senior technical counterparts at fabrication facilities, driving the identification of issues and use cases, as well as generating hypotheses for products tailored to our emerging direct-to-market businesses. With a focus on advanced packaging and photonics, this position will play a crucial role in mapping emerging pain points to our technology, identifying new value propositions, and ensuring we address the right problems to efficiently achieve product-market fit. This role is essential in bridging the gap between our technical expertise in optics and the needs of the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Roadmap for 3D Integration/Advanced Packaging: Define and drive the SMT technology roadmap specifically for 3D integration / advanced packaging, ensuring alignment with industry trends and customer needs.

• Advise and Collaborate: Provide expert counsel to Zeiss SMT in the development of cutting-edge solutions tailored for our direct-to-market businesses within the semiconductor industry.

• Customer Engagement: Engage with technology teams at customer fabs to thoroughly understand and define their requirements, ensuring that Zeiss solutions effectively address their needs and challenges.

• Strategic Development: Collaborate with Zeiss senior management and technical teams to formulate and refine the technology roadmap and strategy for our semiconductor-focused direct-to-market initiatives, aligning product development with market demands

Do you qualify?

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior engineering roles within the semiconductor industry, demonstrating a strong track record of leadership and innovation.

• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge and practical experience with state-of-the-art fab processes and high-volume manufacturing, with a focus on assembly, packaging, and failure analysis.

• Educational Background: A solid educational foundation in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred, reflecting advanced expertise and research capabilities.

Working Conditions and Special Demands:

• International Travel: Willingness to travel internationally, particularly to customer sites in Asia, to foster relationships, understand client needs, and support the implementation of Zeiss solutions.
