We are currently seeking a manager to guide our Standards team!
Our preferred candidate will be a forward-leaning leader who holds excellent communication, facilitation, and people skills. The individual in this position will lead a team to maintain process, technical and application standards as well as equipment specifications for both AES Indiana and AES Ohio.
This is a position with flexible work arrangements, but the candidate must reside in the Dayton, OH or Indianapolis, IN area. A typical week will be 3-4 days a week in an office setting with 1-2 days per week remote. Traveling requirements will be less than 10%.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Serve as a champion for process development, documentation, and revision across multiple AES businesses
- Lead the strategic development of the team transformation plan that will reliably develop and build new standard processes and tools in alignment with AES critical initiatives.
- Lead internal and external teams in solving complex issues requiring technical expertise, project management, and leadership skills.
- Lead the development and maintenance of new and existing process standards. Focusing on aligned processes across the AES US Utilities.
- Research, prepare, and maintain application and process standards for substation, transmission, and distribution assets
- Partner with Digital and Internal Comms to assess and apply digital tools, technologies, and techniques to deliver process standards in new ways.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of individual processes; provide updates and recommendations.
- Accountable for process sustainability through communicating with stakeholders and monitoring process adherence.
- Develop, maintain, and manage the AES digital library
Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education
- Education – Four-year college degree in Engineering, Business, or Communications. A master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
- Experience – 3-5 years in communications, process improvement, or project management.
- Strong communicator both oral and written. Experience in making presentations to upper management is required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 tools required.
- Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement initiatives, large communication campaigns, and standard writing.
- General understanding of the regulated T&D utility business, assets, and systems. Experience with Smart Grid, DER integration, and other trends changing the industry are a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively supervise and direct the work of assigned personnel, external employees, and the ability to effectively and professionally deal with coworkers and customers is required.
- Ability to manage and work multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
