Job Description
As the Director, Strategy & Business Development, you will help lead the evaluation and execution of high priority initiatives across NBCUniversal’s Media Group platforms. Specifically, you will be responsible for the development of new business strategies and identification of opportunities for revenue growth and value enhancement through rights / content acquisitions, M&A, strategic partnerships, and organic business creation.
You will work on opportunities across NBCUniversal with a focus on NBC Sports rights (Olympics, Golf, etc.), Telemundo opportunities, Digital / Audio strategy, Betting & Gaming, NIL, NBC Entertainment properties (NBC, USA, Bravo, E!, SYFY, Oxygen), and Peacock opportunities.
The scope of this role will be overseeing rigorous financial modeling and critical analysis of opportunities across the entire business including programming, production, digital, broadcast, cable, and streaming.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate deal processes and execution associated with analysis of new and existing rights across NBCUniversal Media Group platforms
- Manage day-to-day communication and collaboration with ad sales, finance, programming, production, digital, marketing, legal, Telemundo, and Fandango teams
- Oversee creation of detailed presentations to support analyses and participate in executive-level discussions on such opportunities
- Supervise detailed financial modeling and analyses of opportunities including valuation/financial statement analyses, Net Present Value, discounted cash flow, and look-back analyses
- Proactively identify and evaluate trends, new markets, new technology, and business opportunities in sports, media, and other related industries
- Independently identify potential new revenue opportunities and analyze potential target acquisitions and partners consistent with strategic goals
- Communicate findings effectively both verbally and in written form including end-to-end, polished, executive-ready presentations
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience, including 3 years in a highly analytical role (e.g. investment banking, consulting, corporate strategy / development or business development at a media, entertainment or tech company)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Superior quantitative skills, including strong facility with Microsoft Excel, and a sound understanding of finance and financial accounting
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills (narrative building, influencing with data, executive presence)
- Decisive, quick, forward-thinking, strategic, and tactical; proven ability to work across an organization at all levels with technical, creative, and executive team members under tight deadlines
- Self-starter with experience managing various workstreams simultaneously
- General expectation to be in the office Tuesday – Thursday, with willingness to work from the NBC Sports office in Stamford, CT two of those days each week

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
