Summary:
The Assistant Director Financial Operations is responsible for performing budget management, developing integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections and reports for the Kogod School of Business IRC’s/Centers, restricted accounts, externally funded projects and the online programs. This position oversees the day to day financial activity of these accounts and performs financial forecasting for existing and proposed special programs making recommendations to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations. The position creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual reports. The incumbent tracks revenue and expenditures in the KSB scholarship, restricted accounts and the online programs.
Organizational Characteristics:
This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Finance & Operations and works closely with the KSB staff unit leads, Chairs, Program Directors and administrators of KSB’s IRC’s, the Budget Office, Human Resources and Payroll as well as other academic and non-academic offices across campus.
Reporting directly to this position are two Budget Specialists.
Essential Functions:
Financial Management of Operational and Restricted Centers/Programs, IRC and Externally funded projects/grants: Oversee all aspects of the budget for KSB’s Operational and Restricted Centers, IRC programs and externally funded projects/grants. Forecasts, monitors and tracks revenue and expenditures. Under direction of the Assistant Dean for Finance & Operations, prepares budgets and budget forecasts for KSB Operational and Restricted Centers/Programs and externally funded projects/grants. Provides financial analysis to faculty, Program Directors, Program Staff and Assistant Dean for Finance & Operation. Responsible for the day to day financial management of KSB’s Operational and Restricted Centers, IRC programs and externally funded projects/grants ensuring compliance with AU procurement, contract and human resource policies. Assists the Assistant Dean for Finance & Operations with fiscal year end closing related matters and preparation of the KSB’s biennial budget submission. Provides preliminary projections for the School’s operating budget and assists the Assistant Dean in the tracking and monitoring of revenue and expenses in the KSB operational budget. Prepares financial status reports for Program Directors, research faculty, OSARA, AU Budget Office and the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations on KSB’s externally funded projects/grants.
Financial Management of KSB online programs: Oversee and monitors revenue and expenses for in-house online programs . Oversee the payment/stipend actions for all adjunct and FT faculty teaching for the in-house AU online programsFormulate revenue and expense projections for any new online in house programs and assist with proposals.
Financial Management of KSB Scholarship & Restricted Account: Responsible for the day to day financial management of the KSB Restricted and Scholarship accounts including the online program scholarships. Oversee revenue and expenditures in Scholarship and Restricted Accounts. Works with Office of Development, KSB Graduate Admissions and the online program Director to track all KSB Scholarship awards. Provides financial reports to Development, KSB Admissions, Graduate programs and Assistant Dean for Finance & Operations as required.
