Sr. Facilities Technician

Summary of job contents

 The Sr. Facilities Technician responsibilities involve repairing, servicing and maintaining all the units and systems of a facility. Works under the supervision of a Facilities’ Manager. Require being conversant with all safety standards and procedures.

 

Key accountabilities

 

• Maintain and/or coordinate computer managed maintenance system (CMMS) including equipment records, documentation, shop floor notification, and communication of daily operator impacts.  Enter all pertinent information including but not limited to man hours, costs, parts used, etc. into CMMS systems.
• Performs 2 week look ahead on all work orders and assigns to both internal and external parties as necessary.
• Performs weekly proactive walks to check state of campus and assigns work orders as necessary.
• Supports daily huddle to review completed tasks and forecast work for next day.
• Identifies parts lists and procures materials as necessary to support work orders
• For material procured initial invoices are reviewed for correctness and processed
• Oversees the facilities maintenance cage and inventory.  Ensures min/max levels are established and maintained.
• Oversees the tool inventory.  Ensures items are signed in and out. Ensures proper care of company provided tools
• Maintains, organizes and cleans working area, ensure equipment and Machinery meets 6S criteria
• Supports minor maintenance and repair functions for electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, general construction, and assists with subcontractors as necessary, etc.
• Supports/Coordinates miscellaneous tasks, such as; painting rooms, patching walls, moving furniture and changing ceiling tiles
• Performs basic root cause analysis on mechanical equipment along with potential leaks and coordinates the repair
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required & responds to alarm situations
• Proper use of industrial powered equipment as required
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Ensure safety compliance of contractors working for Festo or on Festo property.  This includes the review of the site safety protocol.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

• High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent or qualification from an accredited institution. 3-5 years exp.  Technical Certifications/Training
• 2-4 years experience in maintenance department
• Computer literacy and familiar with Microsoft Office products
• Read, analyze, and interpret common technical information related to HVAC equipment, mechanical/electrical devices or similar; diagrams, schematics, troubleshooting guides, etc.
• Experience in facility mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills; electrical plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, etc.
• Well experienced in the use of basic mechanical tools for standard repairs of masonry, electrical components, contacts, plumbing or landscaping
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers related to general maintenance of office environments, such as mechanical elements, thermostats, furniture, doors and hardware, etc.
• Experience using Industrial equipment such as forklifts and man lifts a plus
