About the role

Job Summary/Purpose: The Senior Benefits Specialist will be responsible for supporting the employee benefits programs for Cherry Bekaert Advisory, LLC. They will work closely with other members of the People and Culture Team, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that the benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective. The Senior Benefits Specialist will also be responsible for providing guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits and resolving any issues or concerns they may have.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer the organization's employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Manage and monitor all leave of absence requests (e.g., FMLA, parental leave, short-term and long-term disability).
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state laws and regulations related to employee benefits and leave of absences (e.g., FMLA).
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to the benefits programs to ensure that they remain competitive and cost-effective.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure that the benefits programs are administered accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits and leave of absences, including answering questions, resolving issues, and assisting with enrollment and claims processes.
  • Develop and deliver employee education and communication programs related to the benefits programs.
  • Monitor and analyze benefits usage and costs and provide regular reports to management.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new benefits programs as needed.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration software and systems.
  • Ability to analyze/interpret data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or other relevant certification preferred.

Required Years of Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits administration or related field.
  • Experience in a professional services industry preferred.
  • Experience working with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
  • Experience with global/international benefits preferred.
