Job Overview

The research lab in the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a highly motivated Associate Researcher to join our dynamic team at the forefront of biomaterials, nanotechnology, and immunoengineering. This role focuses on developing innovative nanoparticle-based solutions to modulate immune responses and advance therapies for complex diseases like obesity and metabolic disorders.

Essential Functions

  • Synthesize, optimize, and characterize lipid nanoparticles and other biomaterials for drug delivery and immunomodulation.
  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments, including cell culture, animal models (e.g., mouse), and analytical techniques like dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, and flow cytometry.
  • Assist in data analysis, grant preparation, manuscript writing, and lab management, including equipment maintenance and compliance with IACUC protocols.

Required Education

Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree

Required Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
  • May require experience with specialized software programs. 

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with nanoparticle formulation, biomaterials characterization, or molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blot).
  • ​Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced academic lab.
