William Blair Private Wealth Management is seeking an Associate I, Business Development – Pre-Liquidity Planning. This individual will gain fundamental knowledge in how to pipeline for our internal business units, outsider founder transactions, and business owner clients which Private Wealth Management currently assists. They will also learn how the Pre-Liquidity Planning team carries out marketing campaigns and assist with basic aspects of marketing initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Understand how the Pre-Liquidity Planning team creates a pipeline of potential clients. Understand the process for reaching out to prospects, setting up client meetings, and creating meeting materials.
- Gain an understanding of how to create business development plans that focus on acquiring clients and additional assets under management. Learn how the team expands business with existing clients.
- Learn the types of marketing presentations and materials the team utilizes to perform potential client reach-outs, in meetings with prospective clients, and when looking to expand business with current clients.
- Assist with creating marketing materials as needed for prospective and current client meetings. This can include, but is not limited to, email campaigns and curated client events.
- Assist with executing small, focused client events to help cultivate new UHNW clients for Private Wealth Management.
- Partner with William Blair’s internal marketing team and utilize Salesforce for email campaign initiatives.
- Utilize Salesforce to enter and track new Investment Banking opportunities, ensure Compliance attestations are completed, add AUM or Investment Banking fee opportunities, update statuses, add notes from client interactions, and add advisor feedback.
- Learn how to use Pitchbook to design screens to identify founder-owned transactions.
- Maintain documentation of the team’s processes and procedures.
- Build relationships across Private Wealth Management and the Investment Banking business unit to cultivate a positive working relationship.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties that support daily team operations, including document maintenance and organization.
