Shift: Days (6am - 2pm)

Location: Kansas City, MO

 

Mar Petcare is looking for an Area Maintenance Technician to join our business at one of our manufacturing plants located in Kansas City, Mo.

The Area Maintenance Technical is the Preventive Maintenance systems owner for their area or lines.  They are responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown-related losses.  The Area Maintenance Technician is responsible for building capability in Operations and Reliability Teams to deliver overall area and line results supporting the Site KPI’s.

The Area Maintenance Techs are an integral part of daily direction setting meetings and oversee the coordination of Planned Stops in the assigned area.  Area Maintenance Techs own the assignment to execute planned stops and BDE process, including execution of corrective action across all relevant lines. Additionally, the Area Maintenance Techs serve as the liaison for the maintenance group during all Autonomous and Preventative Maintenance discussions and should be considered a technical expert in the assigned area, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems, with a complete understanding of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Own PM systems for the line while focusing on maintenance planning, scheduling, and breakdown elimination.

  • Drive results in planned and unplanned downtime, owning area PM compliance, and breakdown elimination while building the functional/technical skills of the team.

  • Be the technical expert of related equipment able to discuss, coach, and train technicians/operators on equipment while supporting the AM pillar.

  • Able to execute all the duties of a senior mechanical/electrical technician at a high level of proficiency.

  • Makes business decisions based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

  • Understands the complete business operations and coach’s others to do the same.

  • Participates in the development and own portions of the line’s 90-day loss elimination plans.

  • Provide performance data for selected machines along with the ability to communicate action plans and complete work in an effective manner.

  • Lead process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards.

  • Lead root cause problem-solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line and department.

  • Recommends machine improvements to have a positive impact on efficiencies.

  • Work directly with OEM’s and suppliers on process improvements and troubleshooting.

  • Any other additional responsibilities as assigned

Education and Training

Minimum:

High School Diploma or GED

Technical Certificate or Equivalent Experience

 

Preferred:

Associate, Bachelors or Technical Degree

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum:

Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership

Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train

 

Preferred:

Experience operating within a formalized Continuous Improvement Environment (MSE, TPM, Lean Manufacturing)
