A Brief OverviewThe Supervisor, Pharmacy is a pharmacist supervisor responsible for overseeing and optimizing pharmacy operations or clinical services, including process development, staff support, and medication use advocacy. This role performs administrative duties while maintaining operations and clinical continuity of the pharmacy.
What You Will Do- Responsible for coordination of the activities of professional and technical pharmacy employees engaged in operational or clinical activities.
- This position may require Responsible Person/TDDD license responsibility for a designated pharmacy.
- Provides direct supervision to professional and/or technical pharmacy employees, including performance evaluations.
- Assists in regulatory compliance by developing policies for operations in accordance with laws and regulations. Monitors compliance with policies and continuous quality improvement of pharmacy services.
- Creates and implements the orientation and training of new and existing professional and technical staff for their specific job descriptions.
- Participates in the development of new pharmacy services and initiatives.
- Collaborates with other departments on key initiatives and patient care.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility through proactive budget awareness, efficient inventory management including shortage mitigation, and implementation of cost-effective practices.
- May fulfill pharmacist duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Pharmacy (Required) or
- Doctorate Degree Pharm D (Required)
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
- Other Accredited Program: Completion of an ASHP accredited residency(ies) or Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) Residency (Preferred)
- 1+ years of applicable pharmacy experience (Required) and
- Prior supervisor experience (Preferred)
- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology and personal computers (Preferred proficiency)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work on a team (Required proficiency)
- Professional demeanor (Required proficiency)
- Leadership skills (Required proficiency)
- Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph) State of Ohio (Required Upon Hire)
