Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC is looking for a Technical Project Manager at our Plymouth, MI location. This position includes overall technical project management responsibilities of chassis control active safety systems including brake modulators, electronic brake boosters, and future braking system configurations. The ideal candidate would be highly self-motivated and have the willingness to dive right in. You will work directly with an entire development team including software developers, application / calibration engineers and fellow project managers to develop project specific solutions with strong customer input for advanced chassis control active safety systems.

  • This position is responsible for the overall technical project leadership of electronic stability control device (ESP) and/or electronic brake booster device (iBooster) products within Electric Vehicle customer projects with vehicle destination to North America.  CHECK OUT the videos linked at the bottom of this posting to learn more about these exciting products and the many ways in which Bosch is Invented for Life.
  • As Technical Project Manager (TPM) you are overall accountable for the technical success of the project.  You will lead a multi-cultural team composed of component managers, Function and Performance Developers who are in offices/test facilities around the world.
  • First point of contact for the overall technical development within the internal engineering teams; including software, calibration, hardware, and system.
  • First point of contact for OEM in the areas of E/E, Software, and vehicle performance topics.
  • Ensure system and software development, validation, and delivery are according to guidelines and processes (e.g., ISO26262, ASPICE).
  • Oversee vehicle application/calibration/tuning of ESP and iBooster algorithms based on established methodologies both in vehicle and lab/offline environments.
  • Project handling and project documentation according to specified processes.
  • Monthly reporting of project status to senior management in USA.
  • Work package definition and tracking, release planning, resource planning, quality assurance according to Bosch Active Safety process landscape.
  • Responsible for evaluating customer specifications including support of translating the system requirements into Rational DOORS (and related IBM based products), evaluating requirement and test coverage, and support of issue / defect tracking.
  • Support vehicle test environment and lead both internal and customer meetings.
  • Prepare and communicate technical presentations for the customer.
  • Flexible, willing to travel (4-6 weeks / year) and participate in test drives (international travel possible).
  • Flexible, willing to flex working hours to allow daily international collaboration while achieving a good work/life balance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME, EE, or related)
  • 2 or more years of experience in technical project management, project lead, or project management
  • 2 or more years of experience in automotive, motorsport or heavy equipment industry
  • 1 or more years of vehicle networking, diagnostics and debugging complex systems and/or hands-on (mechanical or electrical) experience
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and braking systems
  • Experience with Calibration (vehicle testing) of ESP or related braking systems
  • Experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive, or related industry
  • Good understanding of vehicle architecture and chassis control interfaces
  • Capable to understand embedded control software and communicate software changes
  • Experience in systems / requirements engineering
  • Ability to structure, moderate and promote collaboration with international teams, negotiate wi
