Textile Technician I - 3rd Shift

The Textile Technician I is responsible for setting up and operating machines that produce the materials for the Sutures department within the Braiding area. The 3rd Shift Hours are: Sunday through Thursday from 10:30PM to 7:00AM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manufacture the finished product to specifications with the use of measuring equipment, specialized hand tools and microscopes, making decisions in equipment setup parameters within established guidelines to achieve the required specifications.
- Set-up and operate a variety of light duty textile machines to manufacture product-specified on work order using engineering prints, standard work instructions, and inspection procedures.
- Document all production activity on batch sheets accurately and consistently to ensure traceability of work.
- Utilize SAP to accurately perform Work Order Confirmations to include accepted, rejected, and scrap quantities as well as scrap reason determination.
- Handle and measure appropriate chemical quantities using laboratory equipment such as graduated cylinders and digital scales; track usage for accurate inventory issuance.
- Adhere to EHS requirements for safe work practices including wearing PPE, maintaining orderly work environment, and awareness of process risks.
- Perform inspection of completed and in-process work and accurately prepare documentation to assure correct specifications and functional criteria have been met prior to submitting the batch to Quality Control.
- Work primarily unassisted or with minimal supervision and instruction, with the ability to self identify priorities and meet planned demand for each work center.
- Identify in-process defects and troubleshoot related equipment to ensure quality of materials produced.
- Read manufacturing BOMs, routers, and drawings/blueprints to establish work order requirements.
- Works inside a controlled clean room environment for material finishing, including wearing clean room attire in accordance with ISO Class 7 controlled environment requirements.
- Able to perform terminal cleaning and daily housekeeping utilizing various cleaning and disinfecting agents as assigned. Documentation as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months manufacturing or technically related experience preferred
- Medical device manufacturing experience desirable
- Textile processing experience is preferred
- Experience in Lean manufacturing environment is desirable
- Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Self motivated and able to work independently when necessary.
- Ability to determine materials and tools required to perform the operation.
- Able to perform different tasks/operation required to manufacture the product.
