Job Description

HII Mission Technologies Newport News Direct Support is seeking candidates to join our K48 Re-Entry Control (REC) Quality Assurance and Certification Team as a Trade REC Coordinator. The main responsibilities include the certification of REC work, the daily management of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE), REC certification, brief attendance, and ownership of the NNS REC process. This individual will be responsible for the development of a strategic training plan to cover certification of legacy and UIPI REC processes. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for the communication of program Key Performance Indicators and the overall health of the REC process.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. 

Possess a comprehensive understanding of NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 (SUBSAFE Requirements Manual) and supporting documentation and instructions, as well as a broad understanding of SUBSAFE, FBW SCS, and DSS-SOC work. 

Working knowledge of NAVSEA 0948-LP-045-7010 (Material Control Standard) is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • An NNS Apprentice School/Degree is equivalent to an associates degree for this position. 
  • Ability to Obtain/Maintain a CONFIDENTIAL Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements

  • Re-Entry Control Process experience – Navy or NNS
  • Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) / Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS) or Assistant Quality Assurance Officer (AQAO) / Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) experience
  • Strong customer relations skills
